Donald Howard Menzel (11 April 1901 – 14 December 1976) was an American astronomer and astrophysicist, and critic of Velikovsky. Prof. Vine Deloria comments:
“Velikovsky suggested that the sun was an electrically charged body. Donald Menzel, a Harvard astronomer and one Velikovsky’s most bitter critics, ridiculed the idea”.[1]Vine Deloria, Jr., God Is Red: A Native View of Religion, 2003, Fulcrum Publishing, 2003, , ISBN 1555914985, 9781555914981, 352 pages. “A Spacial Problem of History” p.128
